BEGINNER-FRIENDLY GROUP PIANO PROGRAM
Most children don't quit piano lessons because they're not interested.
They quit because they're expected to learn alone…
Without the support to keep them going.
A piano program that doesn’t make your child quit.
Raise your hand if this sounds familiar:
“My child tried piano lessons before and quit”
“I don’t want to spend money on piano lessons if they never practice”
“I don't know if a group setting is as good as private piano lessons”
“I don't want to lock into a year if my child loses interest”
Every one of these fears make sense.
But after 30+ years of teaching private and group lessons, here’s what we’ve learned:
Your child's interest in piano lessons will only take them so far.
The right learning environment is what turns interest into a lifelong skill.
Starting piano in a group setting builds more confidence, more quickly…
HERE’S WHAT WE’VE LEARNED FROM TEACHING HUNDREDS OF BEGINNERS:
because your child is learning with others who are motivated in figuring it out, too.
Private lessons have their place—honing advanced technique, preparing for festivals, or RCM examinations.
But for a child just starting out?
Learning alone can feel isolating before it ever feels rewarding.
That's why we designed a full-year piano program that grows and adapts with your child.
-
The focus of solo practice and energy of group learning.
Your child joins a cohort of 4–5 students, close in age.
Each class blends self-paced discovery with personalized guidance from the instructor.
-
Skills that compound with every class, every year.
Skills build in cycles—not a rigid, linear curriculum.
By building strong music foundations that are revisited and refined over time, your child gains the confidence and skills to learn any song.
-
Practice that feels like play, so they own their progress.
Gamified software turns practice into something your child chooses to do.
This allows each class to include meaningful, individualized support and feedback.
The reason why I created a different kind of piano experience
MEET ANDREA—LEAD INSTRUCTOR FOR THE FULL-YEAR PROGRAM
After three decades of teaching piano to young children, I’ve seen this:
Children don’t thrive in isolation—they thrive in connection.
That’s why I created a full-year group piano program that blends expert teaching with collaboration, creativity, and community.
Students feel supported, motivated, and guided every step of the way—so they don’t just learn how to play piano, they love it.
Because when children feel confident, they keep going.
“Before long, both of our children were actually looking forward to every lesson, which says a lot!”
“Our son had some prior experience, but lessons here have taken his playing to a whole new level. Mrs. Andrea's teaching style is fun and engaging[…]Her patience and encouragement have done wonders for their confidence, and the progress we've seen has been remarkable.”
— M. OCAMPO
What’s included in this full-year piano program:
-

1. Guided curriculum with an option to fast-track each level
Our program blends the Piano Express curriculum with Keynotes, a play-based, whole-body approach for younger learners, incorporating movement, singing, and hands-on exploration.
Every 12 weeks, your child completes a learning cycle—building skills with confidence and moving ahead as they are ready. -

2. Weekly classes that balance independence and guided instruction
Students benefit from a balanced approach—combining focused, self-paced learning with collaborative group experiences, and incorporating elements of movement, listening, and creative exploration.
This allows your child to progress at their own pace while growing alongside their peers.
-

3. Gamified home practice that makes your child want to play
Learning doesn’t stop at the end of class. Your child gets access to a studio-approved app to practice songs, track progress, and earn points at their own pace, on their own terms.
-

4. Performances that celebrate the whole cohort's progress
Performances that celebrate the whole cohort’s progress
Every 12–16 weeks, families are invited to observe their child’s cohort in a private, supportive showcase—celebrating the progress they’ve worked toward together.
Additional performance opportunities in the community are offered throughout the year with guidance from the instructor.
-

5. Summer learning options to maintain your child’s progress and keep them motivated
The beauty of learning music? It’s both fun and educational. That’s why your child has the option to attend our 3-day Summer Piano Camp or continue with regular group classes throughout the summer.
“My daughter's passion for piano is a direct testament to her dedicated and exceptional teacher.”
“My daughter has been attending Aria Music Studio for the past three years. The studio has consistently provided a warm and encouraging environment that has allowed her to flourish into a confident and accomplished pianist. ”
— MONIKA P.
Every child learns differently. Here's how to know if this is the right environment for yours.
They're curious, driven, and enjoy friendly competition with themselves
They thrive when they can work at their own pace…and push further when they're ready
They do well in group settings and are energized by peers around their age
They're between the ages of 4–12 and are beginning their piano journey
You want more than a weekly lesson for your child; you want a structured program with a clear direction
This program is designed for your child if:
Your child prefers one-on-one attention and isn't comfortable learning with others, or they need specialized learning support*
Your child needs a parent present during class to feel supported
You prefer a traditional, one-on-one lesson format from the very beginning
Your child isn’t willing to put the time into practicing, or if you aren’t able to make the time to support the concepts taught in class.
Your child has difficulty focusing on a task or is easily distracted by other students.
This program might not be the right fit if:
*As much as we’d love to accommodate children of different learning abilities, our studio currently doesn’t have the resources to cater to your child’s specific needs

-
Absolutely, this program is designed with beginners in mind. Based on the complimentary assessment, the lead instructor will decide which level the child will start at and build from there. The curriculum is structured to meet your child exactly where they are.
-
The full-year group piano program at Aria Music Studio thoughtfully blends technology, collaboration, and expert instruction. This allows for deeper learning than a traditional one-on-one lesson model.
As a result, the program builds confident, independent musicians.
Through small, structured classes, students learn from both the teacher and each other—developing strong reading skills, musical understanding, and confidence in a supportive environment.
We’re not in the business of teaching piano. Our goal is to nurture confident, capable musicians while building community.
Because when children feel inspired and supported, they don’t just learn music…
They grow through it.
-
Most children don't quit because they're not interested. They quit because they're expected to learn without the support or tools to keep them going.
At Aria Music Studio, learning extends beyond the lesson. Your child benefits from a dynamic group environment alongside carefully selected apps, software, and studio resources that support structured, engaging home practice. This helps them stay motivated, make steady progress, and enjoy the process.
-
That's exactly what the complimentary student assessment is for. Before your child joins a class, we spend 15–30 minutes together to understand how they learn, how they respond in a group dynamic, and whether this environment is the right fit.
We only extend an enrollment offer when we're confident it's a good match for your child and for the cohort they'd be joining.
-
It's a valid concern. The full-year structure exists because meaningful progress in music, and in building any lifelong skill, takes sustained effort. Short-term enrollment tends to interrupt momentum right when it's building. That said, the student assessment is designed to give both of us the confidence that this is the right fit before any commitment is made.
We'd rather take the time upfront than have a family feel uncertain once they've enrolled.

We understand that summer is an important time for families to rest, travel, and enjoy a slower pace. Our program is designed with that in mind.
Many families choose to continue lessons in a more relaxed way, with fun, engaging summer options, including camp-style experiences that keep learning fresh and inspiring.
Because our classes are intentionally small and in high demand, enrollment secures your child’s place in their group moving into the fall.
For families who will be away, one Program Hold per year is available. Each student may use one Program Hold per year, which allows your child to pause lessons for one (1) full calendar month while keeping their place in class. When they return, they can continue right where they left off with their group. A small hold fee applies, and we simply ask for 30 days’ notice to arrange it.
-
We understand that family circumstances can change, and we’re here to support you through that transition.
If you need to withdraw, we require 30 days’ written notice by email. Lessons will continue during this notice period, after which your child’s place in the program will be released.
Because our classes are intentionally small and thoughtfully structured, this notice period allows us to care for each group well and offer the space to another student.
-
Because the curriculum is cyclical, revisiting and deepening core skills over time rather than moving linearly, missing a class doesn't leave your child stranded. The structure is designed to absorb life's interruptions without derailing progress. That said, consistent attendance is what allows your child to advance through levels and get the most out of the program.
-
Yes! Families with more than one child enrolled receive a Family Enrollment Benefit. The first child is enrolled at the regular tuition rate, and each additional sibling receives $50 off annual tuition, reflected in the monthly payments.
This benefit remains in place for as long as multiple siblings are actively enrolled in the studio.
-
There is a yearly registration fee of $150, which covers books and printed materials, studio supplies, software and curriculum licenses, digital learning tools, student portal access, student rewards and incentives, and recital-related expenses. This fee is separate from your monthly tuition and is required to reserve your child's place for the upcoming studio year. If your child withdraws before their first lesson, 50% of the registration fee is refunded. Once lessons have begun, the fee is non-refundable as materials have already been prepared.
-
Tuition is divided into 12 equal monthly payments and processed automatically through the student portal. If a payment fails, you'll be notified to update your payment method promptly. Payments not resolved within 5 days of the scheduled billing date will incur a $25 late fee.

At Aria Music Studio, our program is designed to support consistent, uninterrupted musical growth.
In a traditional 10-month structure, the long summer break often leads to a loss of momentum—meaning students spend valuable time reviewing rather than continuing to build new skills. Our full-year program allows students to retain, strengthen, and expand their learning in a more natural and continuous way.
At the same time, we understand that summer is an important season for families. That’s why we offer flexible summer options, including lighter participation and a one-month Program Hold, so families can enjoy a break while still maintaining their child’s progress and placement.
Tuition is structured as a consistent monthly investment that reflects your child’s place in the program, ongoing progress, and access to the full learning experience—rather than a set number of lessons in a given month
-
Not at all. Enrollment is rolling—your child can join whenever a suitable class spot is available. In some cases, entry points are determined by class availability and level placement rather than a fixed calendar date.
-
Your child is added to our waitlist. As soon as a cohort of at least 4 students at the right level is ready, a new class opens and your child is placed.
-
Families will be contacted ahead of the new studio year with re-enrollment details. As long as your child maintains continuous enrollment, their spot and current tuition rate are protected. If you choose not to re-enroll, 30 days' written notice is required.
Experience
-
Each class is intentionally kept small, with a maximum of 4–5 students, thoughtfully grouped by age and level.
This allows for a focused, supportive, and personalized learning environment where every student is seen, guided, and actively engaged—without the anonymity of a larger group setting.
-
Placement is based on two things: your child's level and their availability. After the student assessment, we match your child to the class that fits both. If no class is currently available at the right level and time, your child is added to our waitlist and placed as soon as a spot opens, which requires a minimum of 4 students to form a new cohort.

The Early Learners program is designed for children ages 6 and under. Classes are 30 minutes and focus on the foundational building blocks of music: finger numbers, basic geography of the keys, steady beat, and note values. The Intermediate Learners is for ages 7 and up. Classes are one hour and follow the full Piano Express curriculum, with both independent software time and group instruction.
-
Early Learners attend once a week for 30 minutes. Intermediate classes meet once a week for one hour. Parents are not required to stay during class. Our supportive, structured environment helps students quickly build confidence and independence. A short transition period is always welcome if needed.
-
Each class is thoughtfully structured to balance independent learning and guided instruction.
Students spend part of the lesson working at their own pace with the support of interactive tools and studio resources, followed by group instruction where we build technique, musical understanding, and creativity together.

-
Yes. The 12-week cycle is designed for the average learner, but students who are ready to move forward can advance sooner. The software tracks exactly where your child is, so when they've passed all the pieces in a level, the next one is waiting for them.
Practice at Home
-
Yes, having a piano or digital keyboard at home is an essential part of your child’s progress.
Regular practice between lessons allows students to build confidence, reinforce new skills, and truly enjoy the learning process. For the best experience, we recommend a full-size keyboard with weighted keys, as this helps develop proper technique, finger strength, and control—foundational skills for musical growth.
If you’re unsure what instrument to choose, we’re always happy to guide you in selecting an option that supports your child’s success.
-
Consistent practice is an important part of your child’s musical growth, and we aim to make it both manageable and enjoyable.
For our Early Learners, we recommend short practice sessions about 5 days per week, supported by simple take-home guidance and video resources to help families feel confident at home.
As students move into the Intermediate program, practice becomes more self-directed. With the support of interactive tools and our studio system, students are encouraged to take ownership of their progress—often feeling motivated to practice regularly as they work toward their goals.
We also recognize that family rhythms change throughout the year, so practice expectations are adjusted seasonally. Summer, for example, is designed to feel lighter and more flexible while still supporting continued growth.
Summer
-
Summer at Aria Music Studio has a lighter, more creative feel, while still supporting each student’s continued growth.
Lessons often include composition, ensemble playing, and themed musical experiences—giving students a chance to explore, create, and enjoy music in a more relaxed and inspiring way.
We also include a planned studio break of approximately 2–3 weeks, allowing families time to rest, travel, and enjoy the season.
-
Enrolled families choose one of three arrangements each summer: join our 3-day Summer Piano Camp, continue with regular weekly group classes, or use the one pause included in their enrollment year for an extended break (granted that it hasn’t been used at any point in the year).
Details and dates are included in your registration materials.
-
We aim to share the full studio calendar well in advance, so families can plan vacations and activities with confidence and ease.
The right start to your child’s piano journey makes all the difference.
Our programs are designed to build strong musical foundations in a supportive, engaging environment where your child can grow with confidence.
